Download help

Getting your password - music bought through www.mattkingston.com, or through eBay

Shortly after you have made your payment, I will send you an email confirming your payment. This email will also contain a password, which you will need to download your music. (Please note, you will also receive an email from PayPal (and, if applicable, eBay) confirming your payment - this does not contain the password. The email you need will be sent from matt@mattkingston.com).

How to download the file(s) you need

The above dropdown menus contain links to all my music files, categorised first by ensemble type (ie. Brass Quintet, String Quartet etc.), then alphabetically by composer. Simply click the appropriate menu, highlight the title to download, and click again. This will take you to a webpage from which you can download the music.

On this second webpage, you should see the title of the piece of music you selected, and a download button.

Right-click this button. (If using an Apple mouse, you may not have a right mouse button. You need to hold down the ctrl key whilst you click). A menu will pop up giving you various options. These will vary depending on which web browser you are using. The option you need will be something like "save linked file", "download link target" or "download link to disk". Click this option. (Be careful that it is the linked file or link target you are saving, and not the image itself, as you may be given the option to do both).

A PDF file, containing the parts and score for your music, should now be downloading. Typically, a file is not more than a couple of megabytes, so this should only take a few seconds if you are on Broadband. The file may be saved to your desktop, or possibly to another destination on your hard drive, such as my documents. If you cannot locate the file, run a search on your hard drive using either the composer name or a word from the title, as these will both be in the file name.

Once you have located the PDF file, you need to open it in a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader, or Apple's Preview. At this point, you will be asked to enter the password you received by email. (Remember to keep a note of the password, as you will need it each time you open the file).

You will now be able to print unlimited copies of your music.

If you have any problems whilst downloading your music, please feel free to email or telephone me, and I will do my best to resolve the issue.
